Thee Sacred Souls

28.02.2025

I said, “Don’t worry about the future”,
She said, “That’s easier said than done”

sings Josh in one of my favourite songs from The Sacred Souls. And the thing is that at the moment the future worries me a little bit. Just when I got home from the concert on 28.02. I saw some worrying news in the media. Luckily I had picked up enough energy at the concert not to let them spoil the evening. Anyway, I think I’m going to need a lot of Sweet Soul the way I see things are going in the world.

Anyway, let’s talk about the fantastic concert:

The opening band was LA LOM (the L.A. League of Musicians), an instrumental band that combines Cumbia, Psychedelic cumbia, Surf and Americana presenting their debut album. I’m going to write a separate article about them.

I saw Thee Sacred Soul for the first time 2023 in Berlin at the Hole⁴⁴. The hall was packed, with tickets sold out weeks before. At the end of the concert I was able to talk to the band and they signed the LP for me. Josh seemed to me a very nice and down to earth person.

Just two years later and presenting their second album “Got A Story To Tell” at the Metropol, (with almost three times more occupancy) the tickets were already sold out months ago. I have to say that the Metropol is one of my favourite venues in Berlin and the concert looked, sounded and felt amazing here. This time the band was accompanied by a brass trio. The bass, guitar and keyboards stayed in the second line next to the drums. It was a pity that I couldn’t photograph the other members of the band in the foreground (I don’t use zoom). The good thing is that in the Metropol, with 13 meters high and two gallery levels you can see the band from many different perspectives. I was also able to take pictures of Josh from the gallery while he was singing in the middle of the audience. He usually does that during a song at a concert. And the audience loved it. He even went up to the first gallery while the song “Running Away” was playing. It feels like he is singing for everyone in the audience.

In short, I loved seeing the band live again and enjoying the concert surrounded by people who are having as much fun as me. I recommend you to go and see them if you haven’t done it yet.

I hope you like the pictures.

Take care.
